Attorney Bios:

Scott J. Gartner

Scott J. Gartner is the CEO of Merit Law Group (formally Gartner Law Offices, Inc.) in Chicago. His practice is concentrated in Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning. Scott has nearly 20 years of experience representing clients in Chicago. surrounding counties and Southeastern Wisconsin. Scott has tried numerous cases in Cook and Lake Counties, as well as in the Federal Courts of Illinois and Wisconsin. He is also the Mayor of Antioch, IL.

An entrepreneur by nature, he is also the founder of RoadtoClose. Seeing a need to reduce missed deadlines and improve poor communication in the real estate process, he created the cloud-based, transaction management app RoadtoClose. The mission is to simplify the process from contract to closing for all professionals involved, while enhancing the experience for buyers and sellers.

Scott has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) focused in Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, as well as a B.A. degree in History and Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.  He is currently licensed to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, including the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois and Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Notably: In addition to his legal career, Scott is committed to community outreach and development. Specifically, Scott is a member of the Antioch Rotary Club, Antioch Chamber of Commerce, Lake County Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association. Further, Scott is the former co-chair of the Lake County Bar Association Real Estate Committee. In his free time Scott enjoys spending time with his two daughters, golfing, boating, attending sporting events and concerts.

Raquel Robles Eschbach

Raquel Robles Eschbach is the managing partner at Merit Law Group in Antioch, Illinois.

Raquel Robles Eschbach was born and raised in Lake County, Illinois. She attended Illinois State University, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology.  She subsequently obtained her law degree at The John Marshall Law School.  During law school, Raquel Robles Eschbach was a member of Law Review and interned as a 711 and a law clerk.  Upon graduating from law school with high honors, Raquel Robles Eschbach began her legal career at the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. 

After many years serving as a prosecutor, she began practicing as private counsel in the areas of real estate, criminal defense and estate planning.  As a result of her educational and work experience, she has exceptional researching, negotiating and trial experience.  Raquel Robles Eschbach has negotiated hundreds of cases and has tried over 30 trials to verdict before judges and juries.

Raquel Robles Eschbach is committed to helping her clients achieve the best possible outcome in every case. She will work diligently at all stages of the legal process and will keep you apprised during every aspect of your case. 

In Raquel’s free time, she enjoys spending with time with family and friends and attending her children’s sporting events.   

Ryan Crotty

Ryan Crotty is an Associate Attorney at Merit law Group.

After serving as a bankruptcy attorney for the last 5 years in the Chicago area, Ryan has joined our team to help with all of your home sale/purchase needs. He is dedicated to helping clients understand the ins and outs of the legal process, while ensuring that transactions run smoothly.  

Born and raised in Chicago, Ryan was educated at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, then Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. After teaching for several years, he decided he could best serve his community by becoming an attorney. He graduated from The UIC John Marshall Law School in 2013. 

When he’s not working on a deal, Ryan can usually be found either biking around the city or bingeing on a good book series.

Robert A. Egan 

Robert A. Egan is an experienced trial lawyer in Chicago, Illinois. For almost 40 years, attorney Egan has focused on real estate litigation, business litigation, contract litigation including leases, ordinance violations including building court violations and license violations, divorce, and municipal law. He also does Appellate work in each of these areas and is proud to assist other attorneys who seek his counsel about their cases.
